Default flex connection

Is there anything wrong with this particular connection? This is a water heater in a small utility closet in the garage.

It's wrong. An appliance connector is to connect the appliance to the gas piping. It isn't to be used in lieu of gas piping. Here's a great article.

prosperity at any cost, safety first instead of duty first,
the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life.”

Definitely wrong as Joe mentioned. Looks like they used teflon on the connector which is wrong and using white teflon to gas pipe fitting is a no no as well. All around homeowner special.
