Default garage furnace

up flow forced air furnace sitting on floor in garage. because the burner is 20+ from floor does this pass code. 18" or more. I looked at an old furnace sitting directly on the floor but had some contractor say it needed to be off the floor here in new jersey.

18 inches is measured from the garage floor to the point of ignition where ever that may be, normally the burners

BTW after working on these for 40 years I have never seen one that had to be raised
