Garden Hose

Home owner had a garden hose installed for his condensation line…
Any comments welcome.

That’s a “hose pipe” as we call it down South.

Depends on where it’s piped to. I don’t see how it could be piped to the exterior without sags that would limit drainage. If drainage isn’t affected, I’d simply point it out as being non-standard but functional as an informational item.

was there a sprinkler hooked up on the other end?

No sprinkler but a slip n slide though…

Tim,

I would imagine that the manufactures installation guide specifies what type of material to use for this application. I would check it so that there is something to reference your comments.

Tim I think this will help:

M1411.3.2 Drain pipe materials and sizes.
Components of the condensate disposal system shall be cast iron, galvanized steel, copper, polybutylene, polyethylene, ABS, CPVC or PVC pipe or tubing.

Hose is a form of tubing.

And from the list of the aforementioned approved materials, which applies to garden hose? Vinyl or rubber is not on the list.

Thank you Brian
