Home owner had a garden hose installed for his condensation line..

That's a "hose pipe" as we call it down South.
Depends on where it's piped to. I don't see how it could be piped to the exterior without sags that would limit drainage. If drainage isn't affected, I'd simply point it out as being non-standard but functional as an informational item. Tim,

M1411.3.2 Drain pipe materials and sizes.
