Default Garden Hose

Home owner had a garden hose installed for his condensation line..
Any comments welcome.

That's a "hose pipe" as we call it down South.

Depends on where it's piped to. I don't see how it could be piped to the exterior without sags that would limit drainage. If drainage isn't affected, I'd simply point it out as being non-standard but functional as an informational item.

Tim,

I would imagine that the manufactures installation guide specifies what type of material to use for this application. I would check it so that there is something to reference your comments.

Tim I think this will help:

M1411.3.2 Drain pipe materials and sizes.
Components of the condensate disposal system shall be cast iron, galvanized steel, copper, polybutylene, polyethylene, ABS, CPVC or PVC pipe or tubing.

And from the list of the aforementioned approved materials, which applies to garden hose? Vinyl or rubber is not on the list.
