Hello all,
I hate to ask for it (again). I had an email from a lady who found me online and asked if I could tell her the date of her furnace. Below is exactly how she sent it to me. Its a G.E. Serial number is: 580439 947 Model number is: Blue080E924A0 Since I don't have a Preston's...I begging for some help. She said it is an old-looking model, maybe 80s. Anyway, I appreciate the help. She's not my client, but I offered to help. Thanks, Bruce PS Gerry, you out there?? GE
Date of Manufacture: The manufacturing date code is the last three digits of the serial number, and represent the Year and Week of manufacture. The GE age determination system is weak and other clues as to age may be needed (i.e. furnace condition, maintenance schedule, owner’s manual, etc.). Sample Serial Numbers: The year is indicated in Red and the Week in Blue.
