Default HE furnace intake pipe in attic

Is this acceptable? I can't think of any concerns myself & would appreciate any feedback/helpful insight.

IMHO it would be okay if the attic space was well ventilated but it may be against local code. Fresh air may need to be drawn directly from the outdoors.

Continuous soffit venting in conjunction with ridge vents = very well ventilated. Thanks for the reply.
