Default If the primary condensate drain fails...

If the primary drain clogs, the aux. drain will take care of it. That'll work.

I was going to recommend adding an aux.drain (L/V) pan switch, but considering the color, there's probably not enough sheetmetal left to mount the switch.
Duh! You think they have had a leak or two?
