I was on an inspection this morning and yes these furnaces do exit. 0 ppm CO. I just had to share this with all. I'm guessing it's circa 1920. Was coal fired and converted to and A.O. Smith 170,000 BTU Max input burner. It even had the original bi-metallic thermostat and a built in "drip" humidifier. I have pics of that, too but didn't think anyone would be interested.

I thought it was pretty cool, too. I talked to my client yesterday and he's planning on replacing it after closing. That's why I wanted to get some pictures. There aren't that many of these units around anymore. Built Like BULL.
I get concerned when I see a "newer designed furnace" that was built in the 80's.
