Default "Mission" Gas furnace???

Anyone ever heard of "Mission" as a manufacturer of a gas fired furnace.

I believe it is original equipment in the home and the house is 45 years old.

Anyone know who may have bought Mission or what the manufacture date convention is in the serial number of a Mission furnace?

Model: 75MFDF
Serial: PVM 03296L9

March 1929.

I'm only kidding, but it might as well be.

Mission either was a Gaffers & Sattler predecessor or was a Gaffers & Sattler brand. Gaffers & Sattler last manufactured as Gaffers & Sattler in 1970. Since then they have either wholely or partially been part of Armstrong, Magic Chef, Johnson Air Ease, and/or Lennox.

It's such a convoluted history that I'm still confused myself. Nonetheless, it definitely is prior to 1970.

If I had to make an educated guess, though, I would say November 1969, which I derive from the L9.

Thanks RR. appreciate the effort.

I'm pretty sure my Dad was born in March of 1929 and the furnace looks about as old as him.

By the way, Bob Barry, a 1938 graduate of the California Institute of Technology, was chief engineer and member of the executive committee of the Mission Appliance Corporation in Los Angeles.
