Default Radiant Heat

Looking for some additional info on radiant heat. Inspected a mid 70's house with radiant heat from the ceiling. When I was in the attic, I didn't notice any wires under the batting insulation. Are the wires "sandwiched" inside the drywall? Any special precautions needed for replacing sections of ceiling or cutting a hole for a juntion box(ceiling fan installation)? Any info would be great!!

Thanks

John,

Here is some very basic info http://www.radiant-floor-heating.com/

Any afterthought penetrations/alterations could compromise the system or at least that area and may cause life endangerment to the alterer.

Consult the manufacture before any work or penetrations are attempted.
