Default Rust on Ruud Package unit.

I noted some rusting/deterioration on this Ruud gas pac(manufactured 1993). How should I advise my client. What are your concerns about this condition.

Default Re: Rust on Ruud Package unit.

Is that condensation on the outside of the unit (below the rust)?

If so, check unit for broken heat exchanger.
Too much cold air coming out of the heat exchanger!

Have the induced draft blower assy checked for deterioration as well, if they don't condemn the unit beforehand. That much rust, the blower should have been replaced by now. Blower wheel will just rust away.

Ditto What he said. Check for a bad heat exchanger.
