Default straps for flex duct

Is the requirement just that the strapping being a min 12 guage? If so I thought the shoe strings holding this up would work just fine.

1.5" is the minimum width for straps, gauge is not so important. Generally at 4' max intervals, some manufacturers allow up to 5' intervals.
