I came across a heating unit that was installed up side down. The burner area was over the exhaust pipe. Does any one know if this is acceptable on a newer heating unit?

NO, only upright,counterflow and horizontal and not upside down horizontal

Mark,
I'd make sure your client gets verification of inspection by the local inspection dept. on this absurd installation. I can honestly say I've never seen this type of mistake/ignorance in action. |

I had told them to have it corrected. I just wanted to make sure I was correct. I couldn't believe that the installed did it this way.
