Default Vertical furnaces mounted directed in drip pan in the attic

What do you guys think about an attic furnace mounted directly in the drip pan. Normally, you'll see a block under the unit. But when there is no block under the unit, is it installed correctly.

Default Re: Vertical furnaces mounted directed in drip pan in the attic

I would report it as an improperly supported Furnace.

I like to see vibration mounts or shock absorbers or hanging from rafter straps, to restrict the vibration (from the blower motor operation) onto the floor joists. This vibration can get very annoying.
