Not the best option,but figure it may last as long as the unit ,the way they build them today.

Angle may change with swelling.

What does the equipment installation instructions cover about being in contact with combustibles?

It looks like the installer could not figure out how to install the secondary pan under the unit. The pan is usually installed under the unit below the support brackets.That unit looks like a fan coil & would most likely have zero clearance to combustibles so the wood is not an issue TRANE would be proud.
