I don't run into these very often and need help decoding the age from the S/N. Unitary Products Group is the manufacture. In this case it had the York name on it. I'm making an assumtion that GM has something do to with the year. Just don't know the sequence.

Not even close! The home was built in 1913. It always makes it more of a challenge when it's a replacement furnace

I would have thought it was 10 to 15 years old not 20+ years. It's a two pipe heat exchanger 90% eff. Maybe 1991

Sample Serial Numbers: The year is indicated in Red and the month in Blue.

Could not see due to interference. And those lables are horrible to read! 1998 would be most correct as far as everything else with the system that I saw today.
