You've never seen a heating system like this!

I inspected a house yesterday where the original home was about 45 years old with a full basement. A new kitchen was added which was slab on grade. The kitchen was heated with floor heat but the rest of the home was heated with this home-made heating system. The water line is connected to the floor heat boiler, runs through the A/C coils and the bathroom fan blows the heated air through ducts in the floor. It has an on and off feature but no thermostat. Apparently it was difficult to regulate the heat.

I’ve posted elsewhere that everyone around here is a DIY contractor. Here’s proof! Welcome to Southern Manitoba!

Takes knowledge to do that but even more to inspect it.Yikes!

A makeshift hydronic…
I have seen similar…
Inspect it for what it is…
