Whether this is or is not asbestos. It had a pastey feel to it. The home was approximately 50 years old (or more).

Since only a lab can tell for sure I would report the possibility of asbestos and recommend further evaluation.

I don't know of anything that looks that close to asbestos so it probably is.

Thank you very much. I was hoping someone would make me believe I am not a complete dope. They used to have a lot of it at a U.S. airbase about an hour from here but that has been cleaned up and I never did get to see any of it.
