Default Mold Inspections

I'm thinking of adding Mold Inspections. For those who do this, what in your opinion is the best way to get started? I have looked over the kit offered by Prolab. Any opinions on the best way to get started?

educate yourself thoroughly on mold, where & how does it grow, what are your states mandates regarding mold inspection, and remember that mold has to be re mediated, mold can make people sick, talk to your insurance co. also look around the mb good info here

Your first certification class should be at least two days long. There is too much liability to just take a half day or a one day class. You really need to understand what you are doing because peoples' lives depend on it. I see too many home inspectors who call themselves mold inspectors just because they know how to pull a mold sample. There is a lot more to it than that.
Then find an Industrial Hygienist in your area, who is certified in mold, that you will send all your lab work, mold remediation protocol writing and anything else you feel is over your head. In exchange for free phone consulting when you need it. It is a lot better than dealing with a big lab that sticks you talking to a lab technician. The private Industrial Hygienist knows if you succeed you will be bringing him more work. Watch out for Industrial Hygienist who have no mold certifications. They do not understand mold. Their education of mold is only an eight hour class.
Prolab does have a good starter kit. Their kit is what I started out with.
