Default Vermiculite insulation?

Does this look like vermiculite insulation? I understand it could have asbestos in it. Is this acceptable as long as it is left alone?

Yes.

Appears to be Vermiculite.

Provide your client the EPA info and defer the Liability.

What you see is vermiculite insulation. Be sure to disclaim it, advise the client that it has caused health problems due to asbestos in it.

As long as the attic is closed and the insulation is not disturbed there should not be any problems though.

There is lots of info on the net-

Cheers

Doug
