2 into 1 water heater flue vent?

I haven’t been able to find anything in a search here of other postings or in diagrams that I have to verify venting these water heaters together is right.

Is it? I normally see separate vents for each

both identical 50 gal tanks

and yes the tpr drain lines are PVC, and even stamped ‘cold water only’

Do they use 100 vents in a 100 unit building …catch my drift?

Yes its fine as long as its sized accordingly. Many furnaces and water heaters hear are installed side by side.

got it, thanks guys

as long as it passes the backdraft test, ill be fine with it.
i would have called out the pvc cold water only issue. remember tpv turn on at 210 degrees.

Ditto!

Ditto! and yes Bod is right too.

They sure as heck don’t use “just one” either!

Thanks Sean for pointing out that there are requirements and restrictions, and not always a simple Yes/No answer!

Such as this from yesterday…

I have never seen them combined in hundreds of two water heater homes around the Houston area. hard to believe this is allowed. Less cost to the builder. One less pipe, roof jack, and opening in roof.

To answer your question Jeff, they run one for each tier.
