Default 60 years of plumbing history

5 metals if you count the lead in the seals, and 3 plastics. There was also Pex in the kitchen.

Why replace that good cast iron?

The last pic looks odd.
Is that toilet tissue hanging from the copper supply line?
What is with the open line?

Good eye, Robert! It is, I like to think, not TP, but a clot from the laundry stack which blows water occasionally out of that hacked off copper stub at the back. At least there's a trap on it!

Or maybe that IS TP.

This is a norm for the houses here. When I inspect the historic homes here, my piping materials list is always full.

Water water everywhere and not a drop to drink. Looks like a common 70+ year old house. Never a dull moment, you have to love-em.
