Default Age of a Marathon Water Heater
This is a newer w/h. Electric 85 gal. model # MX 85245. Ser# G93-30226.
I really don't believe it is a 1993.

Thanks Ray,
Those super insulated heaters with the plastic jackets look like new for many years! I really didn't think that that this unit could be that old.
