Default Air Activated Vent
I believe that this is an air activated vent (AAV). Is there ever a reason that the orange packing material should be left on? It blocks the vent. I'm almost certain it shouldn't be on there. I just wanted to make sure.

It cannot function with the packaging material left on. . .

just like the plastic on smoke detectors...remove after drwall is complete....jim
