Default AAV Valves and Mold
Does mold form in a cabinet around the area of an AAV indicate problems with the valve?

Possibly. AAV's have a relativly short lifespan anyway. If it appears to be a few years old, I may recommend replacement. They are inexpensive. Replace, clean, monitor.
