Community Development Department Approves!

I did an inspection yesterday in a town which shall remain nameless…
I saw a couple of interesting things. There was an electric water heater installed in the master bathroom upstairs. The TPRV discharge tube was plumbed with PVC. I was also unable to determine the termination point. The downstairs water heater was designed for natural gas, but was connected to LP. ( I checked the manufacturers website and this particular model cannot be converted from natural to LP gas) The buyers agent called the town Community Development Department and they stated that PVC was an appproved pipe for this application. The buyers agent is going to try and make the town correct these conditions since the house is only three years old and both appliances were installed at time of construction and inspected by town code inspectors. I have pictures if someone will help with the upload… This particular town has been known to have rather weak code enforcement.
