Funny, notice how the solder took on both metals. Doesn't mean anything, but I rarely see the water lines soldered to the duct.
I agree with David. Any dissimilar metals (ferrous to non-ferrous). The copper pipe is non-ferrous and the duct is ferrous, even though it has a tin content. You can solder steel if the tin content is high enough. In the world view we are all important and our mere existence effects all life. I've seen leaks in copper pipes for the exact same reason you illustrate. It will corrode and leak with time.
