Nice setup.
Indicates they often have issues however.
Is this a multi family?

Its an older home with cast iron or galv iron drain pipe, I bet the pipe is nearing the end of its useful life and plugs often. What feeds into the line? If there is a washing maching on that drain there is a lot of lint the gets into the drain and can cause problems.

How many trees are in the way of the drain pipe as it exits the home to the street???? hummm??

They should just hang a sign on the pipe saying its done replace me please.

Cross connect if they connect that to the domestic water supply with a hose or other means. Looks like they have also eliminated the clean-out unless there is another somewhere.
