Just curious, I have advised replacement anyway but would this T&P Valve installation ever been acceptable. The water heater is equipped with the standard port for a modern style T&P valve in the tank but it has been capped, there is a small T&P valve installed on top of the main outlet that reduces to a small line that heads into the wall ( cant find an outlet for it)

I have been directing customers to watch the mythbusters episode on that. Pretty amazing to see a water heater shoot through two ceilings and still get up that high

doubtful.
Watts does make an extended TPRV install.. I had seen something like that before and just googled it, best I could find http://media.wattswater.com/F-SF.pdf Look at page 2.. for Alternate install. Can't imagine that's useful in my neck of woods.. maybe could help someone else. |
