Default FVIR Pilot lights going out

Has anyone else experienced a problem with FVIR type water heaters where the customer has a problem where periodically the pilot light goes out.

My experience has only been with FVIR water heaters located in attics where this occurs and only in a couple of houses. In one case it appeared to me that the gas pressure may have been high. However the plumber said it was normal prior to my review of the situation. Turning down the pressure did resolve the problem however if the pressure was normal then that should not have worked. It is possible that the gas valve was defective.

The second case I have seen is similar however this is all a bit strange.

Researching the type and model of the gas valve did not show any recalls on the gas valves.

Any thoughts out there?
