Found this in a 1965 home. There was no T&P valve. I removed the metal top and there was a threaded insert. It did not have a plug so I would imagine if you were to install a T&P you would valve to open the hole. The unit is oil fired. No recent cleaning history. I told the buyer it was a time bomb. Is anyone familiar with this make and model tank? Did I miss something?? The unit is a John Wood WHP30 NO. FA50345

That PB compression pipe fitting will blow if things go wrong!
No need to run too fast! Seriously though, a relief valve can be installed in the piping if the tank is too old to get the plug out. "Time bomb"? Not very good verbiage! Just stick with the facts.
