Brian, I thought New Yorker Boilers were made in Pennsylvania?

I still think there is something wrong with the piping configuration on the first picture. Don't know what it is. Will have to carry a picture with me and show a real professional plumber to feed my curiosity.

You may be correct. The company used to have 2 manufacturing locations-Pennsylvania and Sussex, New Brunswick. Quite a few years back, the company split in two with each section going its own way. I thought the US section had shut down.

Yeah!! It should have had a brass "T". From reading the instruction, I'm of the opinion that it's plumbed right! They ask for a long element so that it will be fully immersed in the tank water.
