Fellow Inspectors,
New construction, kitchen sink drain on exterior wall. No access to basement plumbing, all finished. Do you consider this an S-trap. I did and wrote it up as needing further evaluation and repaired as necessary. Anatol Last edited by apolillo; 11/20/06 at 11:30 AM.. |

This is referred to, by the IRC, as a "vertical leg" for a waste fixture (another one of those applications not allowed by the UPC).
If the minimum dimension requirements are met, this would not be considered an "S" trap. In any event, without access to inspect the balance of the installation, it should be deferred.
