Home owner installed in bathroom, bath not done with permits, GFCI had power when tripped, reverse polarity, gas unvented space heater.

Check out this configuration, no trap at sink. Does not seem to follow manufacturers instructions.

Definitely sounds like the homeowner!!

These units have been accepted in many jurisdictions.

In that configuration, I would want to see a backflow/check valve in the waste line also (if permitted by the manufacturer)
