This officially tops them all, I have no idea how this has happened.
Look at the top portion of the waste pipe (gray water) there is a hole in the top that I can stick my finger in (weird I know) Whats even more puzzling is the other part of the pipe that is dripping water, at first I thought how did a rat get in the pipe, well its no rat as a matter of fact its a hair ball that has clogged the line, but I still cant figure out how the hole got there and why there is hardly any water ponding underneath this pipe?? It is such a slow drip. For what its worth I can tell she was blond Troy Farmer Presidential Inspections LLC Chapter President Southern Idaho PO Box 2144 Eagle, Idaho 83616 208-573-5300 http://www.presidentialinspection.com http://info@presidentialinspection.com |

Probably damaged prior to installation. Turned the hole to the top to limit "spill-out."
It looks like it's cracked as well (just to the left of the hole). What year was this built? http://www.abspipes.com/id.html IF YOUR INSPECTOR IS NOT USING THERMAL IMAGING, YOU'RE NOT GETTING THE WHOLE PICTURE ® Jeff PopeJPI Home Inspection Service Santa Clarita CA (661) 212-0738 Santa Clarita Home Inspection http://www.MyInspector.net |

The hole on the underside likely has sealed itself over the years resulting in the stalagtite.

I suspect the top hole was from the installation, but the bottom section where the hair is hanging out I cant explain. One would assume that if there was a hole in the bottom water would be ever where but that is not the case here. Directly above is the floor with nothing that could cause this to happen.
Now about the taste test lets just say I would leave that taste test to rookies or anyone wanting a little snack. Just another angle of pursuit to think about.... Any vent pipes missing or capped?? I find a few new constructions with capped vent pipes at the roof left in place... maybe the hole is a "homeowner" fix for a slowwwww drain??
