Hi to all,

Charles, in many areas copper gas piping is allowed, I am guessing from your reaction that Washington is not one of them. Areas with high sulphur content in the gas cannot use copper pipe.

Regards

Gerry

Gerry,
Are you saying that solderd copper connections are allowed in gas pipping?

Charles

Yes brazed connections are acceptable. The copper line should be K or L (not M) for gas piping applications.

See more information at:
http://www.copper.org/about/pressrel...echanical.html

Obviously some local jurisdictions may not allow copper.

The following PDF from LNI addresses mfd. homes specifically but adds some information.

Hope that helps.

Copper yes.
Teflon tape on gas lines is not allowed. Teflon pipe dope is the preferred method on threaded connections.
