I did a REO inspection yesterday and found this [see pic]. I noted that the pipe should not be connected directly into the sewer drain and should end at about 6" from the floor and be visible. My code check says something about indirect waste is OK. Is indirect waste a sump pump well?

Indirect waste receptor requires an air gap so that you can visually see that the TPR is discharging. An example would be a floor drain with a trap.
You were correct in stating that this configuration is improper. Chuck Evans (TREC #7657) HomeCert Houston Home & Thermal Inspections Houston Infrared Thermography and Thermal Imaging Inspections Houston Home Inspector Houston, TX |
