Default Ultraviolet water sterilizers: do they work?
Do ultraviolet water sterilizers work well and last a long time? All I know is what the manufacturers claim. Is there an easy way to tell if they're functional and effective?

They kill microorganisms pretty well, to test them you need to take a water sample and try to grow some colonies of bugs.
