Default vent height

is there a minimum height requirement for a plumbing vent stack on a pitched roof? or a rule of thumb?

Probably doesn't matter much in Florida. Main purpose is for snow levels blocking vent. But to answer your question, about a foot.

Thanks, that is what I figured, I told the client is was not an issue ( he is a contractor himself). This one was just above the top edge of the flat cement tile above it. about an inch and a half

Actually, I had that question myself and not to long ago. Florida Building Code Plumbing...I think its the 2002 code states in 904.1 that there needs to be 6 inches of clearance above the roof.

California Plumbing Code (based on the Uniform Code) is the same - 6 inch minimum projection.
