Here's a picture of a high loop that I found and uploaded to About Homes:

That's a high-loop, but it's TOTALLY improper. Would you like a photo of one that is properly constructed (it may take a couple days before I see another)?

It's the only one I have found in my collection so far.

My intent on cleaning off my computer is to find all the cool and not-so-cool pictures and create some PDF documents for my Interactive Report System. If you've got a really good, clear picture, yes, I'd like to have it. Thanks.

I'm doing several phase inspections over the next few weeks, most of which have island vents. I'll get you a good picture before the cabinets and sinks have been installed.

OK - I am not very clear on this topic, but I just saw my first AAV. It is under a kitchen sink, and does rise at least 4" above the drain height. (in fact is looks a lot like RR's first diagram, except it rises 4" above the drain level.)

The sink drain runs into the basement and connects with a Y into the horizontal section of the soil line, on the street (exit) side of the main stack.

(The vertical stack terminating in a roof vent is about 10 feet to the interior/"uphill" of this kitchen drain line.

So, is this the proper application of an indivisual AAV, or is this improperly applied? Any help is appreciated!!!! (Photos of the drain line connects came out dark and blurry, sorry!)

Email the pictures to me and I'll see if I can clean them up.

I found a good AAV iformation site (in case anyone needs it now or in the future):

http://www.toolbase.org/TechInventor...ntDetailID=851

Actually, the main site is a pretty interesting and useful site...

Russel,

I have seen several of these this week, but unfortunately, they were improperly constructed , and we couldn't have that.

Here is a proper one. I sent you the originals (full size) so you can do what you wish with them. . .
