Default White corrosion at water heater shut-off?
I'm used to seeing the green stuff. Any ideas?

If it was my house I would try tightening the packing nut by the handle....or just replace the thing......if that didn't work......

We call it scabbing over as Dale said dripping water. I would suspect that the water is very hard

Well yeah, it's definitely a leak, sometimes corrosion seals them if they're minor. I guess when they leak that slowly the chemical process is different. Usually they're slimy green.

I like to poke at them a little, to see if it really is a leak......

Then all hell breaks loose........

Hope all is well up there Kenton...!!!....and the SNOW is gone.......

Still snow above 6500 ft., peaks are pretty well covered.
