Default Ants, Ants and more Ants

This is one of the biggest nests I found in a long time. The home had a deck built across the front of it and the water from the roof just bounces back off the deck onto the T-111 which soaked it up like a sponge. I went into the basement and pulled back some of the insulation and this nest fell out. Literally 100S of ants and eggs. The outside rim joist and plates had severe rot and ant damage. Believe it or not the buyer was OK with it.

Peter, that reminds me of the ants I encountered when I worked in Eping a few years ago. Carpenter ants can cause a lot of damage when water intrusion is imminant.
