Yeah, that'll do it, Larry. A barrel or two of caulking will fill that gap.

Once that damn strap fails, that chimney is going to slam into the house next door.

Yeah, at least they attempted to stop the swaying on the windy days. They know that a good winter blizzard will topple this thing in a minute.

As I read through pages of posts on this subject, my heart raced with anticipation... only to find out it didn't fall. David I demand closure.... get your *** up there and kick it down!

UPDATE....

We finally get CLOSURE....The falling chimney was removed.

That's OK...I now have a high retaining wall that is falling and I enjoy keeping you all in suspense. I need your guess on a fall date.

Stop and knock on the door introduce yourself and let them owner know their chimney is apparently moving and is likely to fall creating a liability for them. You might possibly create a loyal customer.
