Default Is this a chimney support or what!!!!!
Someone went to a tremendous amount of trouble to just keep from extending the furnace flue thru the roof. This drill stem traveled all of the way to the crawl space where it rests on poured concrete.

Simply amazing.

Charley, the last time I saw clamps like that on pipe insulation, it contained asbestos.
