Try some glue and "C" clamps. Erol, is your new website gonna be geared towards commercial inspections??

You guy's are too fast for me.

In the bedroom right above the broken joist, there is a small area of floor with bulge. It's carpeted so I can't tell what it is. It's a spec home inspection and it's on the list.

Erol, any idea as to what causes the bulge and what caused the broken joist? At this time.

Curious, since we don't see the whole picture.

Thanks

Marcel

Not with the carpet covering the floor. If you have any possible suspects please inform.

They stored or dropped a stack of sheetrock above that area.

On an old house where the crack was through a large knot with little displacement, you can just sister a long (8ft) 2x on each side with a massive amount of 16d nails. On a new house that should be removed and replaced asap.

Here is a cracked one on an old house due to a knot.
