A new way of getting plenty air flow at the ridge

New to me anyway. 2x2's slid down between rafters and plywood gussets added to both sides of the rafter to tie the tops of opposing rafters together.
The ridge vent had blown off, nowhere to be found, so it was easy to get a good look.

That would not be a problem here, we haven't had any rain for awhile.
