they state....'panel system makes your basement look like a finished room, and waterproofs at the same time'

it does huh. what a bunch of TRASH! Paneling doesn`t stop/prevent/waterproof ANYTHING, dammmitttt! all it may do is direct water that is still entering through the wall down to water-diverting system.they ever hear of, think of mold?

am told about 66% of ALL illegal drugs are consumed in the United States, thats about 6% of the world`s population, must be where these great idea`s come from

'Ask an Expert' ?

http://www.cleveland.com/living/plai...460.xml&coll=2

House built in 1976 block walls, when they bought it in 2000 there were WALL ANCHORS in basement....ding ding ding!!! They haven`t had water in basement since they`ve been in there.

Well, lets see, former owner most likely hired a supposed expert waterproofing/foundation repair company who blllchttt`d them into these wall anchors AND installed an inside drain tile system, thus no water ON THE FLOOR since.

But but but but but but...... if these morons didn`t take the expanding-contracting SOIL SOIL SOIL and any roots OFF the freakin` OUTSIDE of wall then THAT`S most likey WHY cracks occurred in wall in first place.

Husband apparently is an engineer and says one should expect cracking `n shifting.

supposed expert at Ohio State Waterproofing aka Ohio State Home Sevices... Frank/expert? asks "Why did the wall bow and shift in the first place?" He actually asks WHY the wall bowed/shifted in first place?

He has some concerns about the wall anchors, well duh!

Many of these companies who install inside drain tile garabge also install these wall anchors, come freakin` on will ya!

Is it also possible someone waterproofed the outside and thats why no water in basement? Uh huh. Doubt it though, most good waterproofing co`s don`t bother with blccct wall anchors, thats almost-always the inside gang.

Cracks in floor? Could be roots under parts of floor, could be floor was poured thinner in parts of floor, could be if someone did install an inside drain tile system it has caused MORE water/pressure under-the-floor in some-areas and other possibilities.

There are different types of 'wall anchors', here some stuff from StablWall, they try and shsow supposed strength and differnce versus a wall anchor-plate http://www.stablwall.com/what-is-sta...ll-anchors.htm

Notice that NEITHER requires excavating/removing soil OFF the outside of the wall and maybe ummmm, WATERPROOFING it! duh, its the SOIL and possibility of any roots against wall that causes many walls to crack/bow in the first place.

Hi Mr Frank http://www.akron.bbb.org/newsearch2....mID=0272004046 not too bad versus Basement Doctor Waterproofing huh!

Why would ya BUY a dang house w/wall anchors in basement wall anyways? HUH??? Cuz ya liked the pretty kitchen cabinets? w t f

Ask the Inspector

-Water in basement
Says.. 'cause is mysterious' and each expert has different advice

http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sub...-4679036c.html

For one thing, ALL ROD HOLES should have been correctly/fully
repaired BEFORE finishing basement and, Mr Builder certainly could have
opted to fill em from outside when built and then waterproof exterior
walls, NOT-damproof,and then backfill w/most-all gravel.

This would have ELIMINATED water-ENTRY THROUGH any rod holes AND
through-the-walls and THROUGH any openings along brick ledge `n
bricks `n mortar joints that are OFTEN....BELOW ground/grade because
too many wanna raise the STUPID grade against unprotected bricks/joints

Hey...RUN a freakin` HOSE, a water-test on the outside..... FIRST.
BEFORE spending any dang money, QUIT guessing/assuming. When ya
can`t see the wall(s) and then put a floor in (can`t see floor either)
ya better take-the-TIME and correctly DIAGNOSE where the water is
FIRST entering. Of course, some will spend hundreds/thousands on
their own or others assumptions and still leak.........Dear Mr. FANTASY
play us a tune!

They got water in/around east corner, again. Says they had east wall
DAMPROOFED, grrrrrr. Let me ask, did contractor at least BACKFILL
w/most-all gravel, hope so. And, did they dig the SOB ALL-the-way-
DOWN? Some do NOT dig all the way DOWN. And don`t forget,
damproofing is nowhere near WATERPROOFING, dammittt.
SHTT, did the freakin` contractor tell `em there were any cracks in
wall? If so, did they use/apply hydraulic cement? Because if they
ONLY damproofed the wall and backfilled w/part or all of SAME SOIL
that was excavated then it`s entirely possible that when the soil
settled it pulled down the thin-lil-cheapy-damproofing tar.

They also should-have sealeed any/all bricks `n mortar joints that
will be below ground level. Damproofing the wall and NOT sealing
bricks/joints can still give water its ENTRY-WAY into basement....
hello? Is there anybody in there?

And, it`s also possible there is a problem(crack, rod hole etc) just BEYOND
where contractor left-off.....just around the corner!

Or, there is an opening(s) above ground/grade.

Or, least-likely but possible.....a crack in floor and/or partial blockage
in lateral-line OR in the drain tile that EMPTIES into sump-PIT.

DEFINE the freakin` leak(s).........FIRST. It`s SNOT the grade, it`s
SNOT the downspout, it`s SNOT the exterior tiles...........
NO WAY Jose Canseco.

More GARBAGE, tired of this chtt
http://video.aol.com/video-detail/ho...ent/2140728953

Did i read the title right? 'How to Waterproof Your Basement'
....I didn`t know you could explain the Good,Bad `n Ugly in 3 minutes

What makes the guest Angie, a Basement Waterproofing EXPERT? Huh??
Gimmie a freakin` break PLEASE!

Preventitive measures? Here we go again, grade, dowspouts etc.
Look, while extending your stupid downspout extensions and raising
the stupid grade will help divert SOME-SURFACE-WATER a lil further away,
it is NOT WHY basements leak, its SNOT repairing the ACTUAL PROBLEM(s)
so knock it off with these MYTHS will ya please, sheesh!

DEFINE the freakin` problem(s) FIRST! Find the entry ways!
dammittttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!!

Angie, sure your a nice lady trying to help BUT YOUR NOT helping!
Continuing the same old BLCCHTTT stories isn`t helping!!!
How many basement waterproofing jobs has Angie done? Huh?

Says.... 'a sump pump is great preventitive maintenance'.
Blchttt! It doesn`t stop/prevent water from entering through walls which
IS MOST people`s problem. Just because a builder puts em in doesn`t
mean chtt. Mr Builder should be WATERPROOFING the freakin` walls and
backfilling w/most-all gravel instead of putting in a sump. That should be
#1, that should be the Preventitive Maintenance on Mr Builders mind,
on Angie`s list. But NOOOOOO, gotta keep yappin` about blccchtt.

Gerri asks Angie, 'What other kinds of SOLUTIONS are out there?'
Paint??????????

NOT 1 WORD mentioned of WATERPROOFING the WALL as a solution.
Expert? Are you kidding!
Then it says around the 2:10 mark,
....'Make sure your waterproofing has a lifetime warranty' WTF!!!!
Hey, i gotta lifetime warranty for ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2:32 mark says... 'there is no state licensing for basement waterproofers'
Well, there is HERE sweety!

Lifetime Warranty??????? She is WRONG, waaaaay off.
And just because someone is on her 'list'.....that means the company
is ok huh? BUNCH of NONSENSE!

Water can`t actually seep through huh? haHAAAAAA!

Oh Henri!!!

---Waterproofing fix leads to larger problem
http://www.nj.com/homegarden/index.s...ds_to_lar.html

HO has block walls, had Inside System installed,so far...has NO water
.....on the FLOOR.

Hope this company defined/diagnosed the problem(s) BEFORE offering
their water-diverting services. Cuz if they did NOT and simply gave
the HO a buncha CHTT then, they are yet another INCOMPETENT
company that ONLY sells/installs Inside Systems which is the reason
for ALWAYS CONCLUDING every HO`s problem/leak should be solved on
the inside.....Blllchttt

Look, g dammmmittttt if these freakin` companies would be
100% competent and HONEST w/HO`s and explain to each of them
on every estimate that....inside systems don`t stop/prevent water entry
through cracks etc on outside of block walls and that by installing an
inside system will only divert further water that`ll enter, under their
bsmt floor.

It won`t take ANY soil pressure or roots off outside of wall, it may
indeed cause MOLD to grow on basement wall(s) because...........
WATER IS STILL ENTERING the WALL!!! Happy Holi.......DUH.

Explain to them that insects `n radon can/will still enter the basement
through these openings on outside of wall. Termites alone cause about
$5-6 BILLION in damages every year, they often ENTER the house-
basement THROUGH cracks in basement walls.....and so on!

Another thing.......MANY of these sorry sob`s do NOT define/diagnose
the homeowners actual problem, leak(s). BLCCHTTT, NO they don`t!
Just sell em the ONLY service they do, an inside system. And often,
when a HO`s only has 1-2 leaky areas they will blcchtt HO `n tell them
they need an entire perimeter system, more footage more MONEY!!!
If they`d all been honest from the get-go i`d never had opened my
big mouth! Some would certainly have preferred that hehehee

But NOoooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooo,
these MORONS can`t/won`t do this because they either are NOT
experts in waterproofing or, don`t want HO`s to know the WHOLE story
cuz if more homeowners KNEW wtf they were/were NOT getting for
$5-17+ thousand MOST of these azz wipes would have been outta biz
a long time ago. dammmmmmmm CROOKS

Not sure i`d title this 'a larger problem' but whatever.....
HENRI sir.......
'it was fine to dig a trench along the walls'???
How ya figure? Chtt, like i say, did these MORONS even define the
actual problem/leak FIRST....huh?

'It`s okay if there is a way for blocks to drain'???
Are ya sure about that?

'Waterproofing the block walls would NOT have CREATED the DAMP
environment the plastic lining provides'??????????????????????????
Say WHAT?
Oh NONSENSE sir, complete nonsense!!!!!!!
Having an inside system done and having plastic placed against a block-
wall can ABSOLUTELY CREATE a DAMP/WET environment! fk me!!!!

Mr Henri...they did NOT WATERPROOF the block walls, this was NOT done!
The company installed an Inside system....HELLO?????
The plastic lining is NOT Waterproofing!

If one is going to try `n help while making MONEY answering HO`s waterprf`g questions
then maybe they outta be PROPERLY QUALIFIED. Got MILK?
