Mark,
For some reason, or the general public is to ignorant to know, excavating around the exterior like you do in my opinion is the ONLY way I think someone could guarantee no more water intrusion issues in the future if somebody like you did the job correctly from start to finish. Hard to find people to put shovels in their hands when they can sell some cheap-azz-crap to smear on the interior walls, do all that soil sloping, downspout extending, almost seems to me the general public in regard to leaking basements is like conversing with a cage of primates, they just don't seem to understand the exterior walls need to be EXCAVATED and waterproofed, amazing actually the ignorance out there, mind boggling ...!! If they just did it right the first time around when built, would save a lot of grief in the future.

.....Mr Duffy and Mr Cyr, yes.....exactly. Doesn`t help....having SOME HI`s telling people they can SOLVE 80-90% of all leaky basements by raising the grade/longer downspout ext`s etc. Doesn`t help when most Host`s of radio home improvement shows and of course....thousands of these incompetent stinky butt scamming inside knuckleheads blccchtt the public for SELF GAIN,video below is part of what the fc i mean. ![]() ![]() ![]() Anyone who MISREPRESENTS,takes a BIG dump on what the fc we`ve done for 30 years is completely full of chtt and deserves a good rant from Bubberman. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNVu5VKZoT4 This looooooser is trying to make it appear like exterior waterproofing is super dooper costly, makes it appear as if exterior waterproofing doesn`t work and soooo on.This guy sukks more weeners than Heidi Fleiss, say hello Heidi http://z.about.com/d/crime/1/0/l/b/fleish2.jpg This is yer BRAIN on drugs. And no, Bubber does not have a free digging shovel fer Heidi. First off, the incompetent one doing the video and other 'JES' locations have 6,9 and 16 customer complaints just within the last 36 months VERSUS, some us of honest mfrs who`ve been hand-digging/exterior waterproofing for 30 years and have no customer complaints, zero. Hmm, they`ve been around 5-10 yrs w/those outstanding complaints versus some who`ve been around 20,30++ years w/none....duh. At end of video, chump-man claims they give Lifetime Guarantees. Well, if you give lifetimes guantees and are honest and, competently identify/diagnose all homeowners problems on original estimate and subsequently write up the needed work, WHY the customer complaints moron? There`s waaaay too much CRAP/false claims/incompetence in video to get into, yep....even for Bubber but let me nail a few... At :18 mark Mister incompetent claims...'When your house is built an exterior waterproofing system is already installed'. Ummm, NO there was not twinkle-toes! The PIPE, the drain tile as you show/suggest is NOT an 'exterior waterproofing system'!!! Exterior waterproofing system would be waterproofing the stupid walls, not damproofing or parging them and backfilling w/most-all gravel....sand if one has to. Not the same excavated shtt soil, roots, bricks, blocks, wood etc. Yeah, doesn`t hurt to have drain tiles but this isn`t why water enters through cracks,loose-cracked parging in walls or openings above grade etc. :25 mark he falsely claims...'the drain tile/pipe will fail, clog or be crushed when backfilled w/dirt'. LololOLLL Ya know, this sob is COMPLETELY full of shtt. Hey Mr 'Netprofit'.....take a good long look at all pictures posted here of exterior drain tiles. You won`t, but if you did you`d see there`s nothing wrong w/any exterior tiles about 95% of the times and umm, this is from someone who has seen exterior tiles for 30 years. Tiles that could get crushed are the ones quite a few BUILDERS been using/installing over the last 20 or so years, the black plastic perforated shtt which should NOT be used at depths greater than 4' per manufacturers recommendation but some builders don`t care or understand this and apparently neither do those incompetent city inspectors who OK/pass this shtt. Website claims.... http://www.wet-basement-waterproofin.../qanda009.html 'Very expensive'.....$15,000-20,000 Hey nimrod, in 30 years i`ve never even written an estimate that was over over $12,000.....thats IF/when someone actually needs all walls done.MOST only need 1 maybe 2 walls done OR just a corner or two OR they may just have 1 crack,1 small area as seen in pictures posted here! Most exterior jobs range between $950- $3,000. And we don`t TEAR shtt up ya lying piece of crap! See pics fool. Ever hear of hand-digging? ![]() ![]() ![]() Ever think of removing PART of a deck,as we`ve done many times,to waterproof the crack correctly? Ever think its possible to remove/replace a stuuuupid bush? Ever think of removing some brick pavers, the needed space to hand dig and put pavers back? Ever think saw-cutting 18-24" of a slab, NOT the entire freakin drive!! Ever think a porch-footing may be the CAUSE of a crack or wall bowing in and DUH, if ya left if there it may certainly cause MORE movement/damage? See where he says exterior water`g.... 'Very limited warranty - typically ONE YEAR at BEST'!!!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() As i say and know, you misrepresent what the fc some of us honest contractors have done for 20-30+ years to try and blccchtt homeowners into the ONLY crap you do, inside systems/for SELF GAIN. False claims galore. I have a BIG fcg problem with anyone like this loser.Any time, any courtroom Mr 'netprofits'.....and hurry the fc up. Heres another home where a KNOTHEAD inside system company talked the homeowner into the only thing they do. They did NOT honestly identify the homeowners real problems which are....outside. http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailsh...6/t_=122238283 Pic`s 3-8 Water is entering through exterior cracks in hollow block walls! Some water is also entering through above ground openings. This IS what has CAUSED the mold and efflorescence on the basement walls, has nothing to do with some blcchtt humidity or condensation problem or problem under the floor! The sump pump doesn`t stop/prevent whats going on here. Guess whats BEHIND the shtty paneling. And some talk about IAQ? Parking garage foundation cracks and leaks
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dM9fPqGtAAU around 2:20.....previous interior attempt at sealing/patching cracks ![]() same kind of crap was attempted in underground GP apt garage, some will never learn. a church in GPW recently had a 20' or so retaining wall built next to church walk out basement where lunchroom is. Old and new retaining wall is about 4' above ground, rest is below next to concrete steps. Old wall was pushing in a bit, cracked and leaking...a problem where they`d go in and out of door to lunchroom.Whoever built new wall did not waterproof it and backfilled w/same soil. It`s already cracked and leaks same as old wall. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Understanding Basement Leaks????? http://gethousesmart.com/test-video/ FORGET the grading/gutters issues,sheeeesh....fix the crack! The crack IS THE problem, waterproof the sob! Window/gaps around-under window may be allowing some water in too. Sir, all due respect but you don`t 'get it'. Are you recommending all they have to do is add/slope soil and add 6 miles to downspout extension? Ya know, if a homeowner wants to play `n fc around with dumb crap and they aren`t selling the house, fine. But anyone recommending this shtt when house is being sold needs to be held accountable. Dude, can see you had an inside system installed....and 3 sump pumps? So where are they? Or did you DIY? Maybe he`s employed by one of these companies or used to work for one and installed it himself. Doesn`t mention anything about the inside system. Can see it, the floor cut-out `n sumps etc. You/whoever either didn`t take the TIME to diagnose/identify the real problem(S) and/or just assumed putting in an inside system and some sumps would solve everything. Sorry but it doesn`t work that way. Just cannot walk into everybodys home/on every estimate and sell them the ONE thing they do. Yeah yeah, many of these companies 'say' they have all kinds of different 'solutions', this is BLLLCHHTTT. Most will need some-exterior waterproofing and/or some tuckpointing or basement window replaced and/or a plumber to snake lateral line/or replace part of line itself/or check-adjust-replace pump or create more holes in pit-wall just under thickness of bsmt floor.Always have to check and be sure there isn`t some goofy indoor plumbing leak, condensation or humidity problem. But most-problems our az`z have seen in 3 decades are those first three,1)exterior waterproofing(cracks etc),2)open mortar joints,loose-cracked bricks, openings around-in-under basement windows, doors, flashings etc 3) blockage, clog,or screwed up pipe(s) between house `n street. http://www.msdgc.org/downloads/wib/c...t_basement.pdf No, don`t agree w/every sentence but there is some good shtt. Pg 2. 'Fixing The Problem' ....fixing your wet basement may (MIGHT) be as easy as RODDING your drainage or LATERAL LINE. Yes indeed, got milk? Pg 4. 'Broken or Clogged Lateral Lines' ....when your house was built an underground network of pipes was installed........as your home AGES,so do the pipes......these pipes may get clogged, crack, break, separate or even collapse... ....Also, as the ground around your house settles, the ANGLE of the pipe may shift.....IF/when this happens....WATER can BACK UP into your house....water can EASILY back up through IMPERFECTIONS in your FLOOR! (Forget the wall) 'Imperfections' in the basement floor are cracks, gaps etc BUT the problem is often what they just stated!!! Don`t need the incompetent inside system crap! Of course these pinheads will say you have a hydrostatic pressure problem UNDER the floor....DUH! But this water can/might/often is there because of some kind of back up,need to snake/rod or possibly replace some pipies....outside! Pg 4. 'SEWER Line Back Ups' IF.....your LATERAL LINE is clogged or broken, water in the line has nowhere to go and CAN back up into your basement....groundwater can seep INTO a lateral line through any cracks or separated joints. Do these inside system co`s ever bring up this possibility and solution? Do they even understand any of this? Bee Gees/Israel....you`ve had your troubles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuKqTuX_UAY Last edited by john bubber; 1/6/09 at 4:22 PM.. |

Homeowners awarded $1.1 million for shoddy construction
http://www.pioneerlocal.com/burrridg...709-s1.article ....built homes in a shoddy manner and constructing the homes on a high water table which caused flooding and cracked foundations. Homes were built on what was formerly a wetland. Jury found Mr P committed fraud. http://www.rundlettlaw.com/CM/Practi...on-Defects.asp ...Biggest construction problem in Mississippi involves home foundations........clay. Unfortunately, unscrupulous builders often fail to remove clay, reinforce foundations, and improperly prepare the foundation... http://www.smithgarglaw.com/consdef.html ....Fraud and Misrepresentation http://www.milnernixonlaw.com/Practi...on-Defects.asp Residential construction DEFECTS include.... -foundation problems, including basement leaks and flooding -interior and exterior wall CRACKS Some don`t want to correctly IDENTIFY/DIAGNOSE why-how basements leak, where the dumb water first enters and INSTEAD actually RECOMMEND raising and sloping the grade, longer downspout extensions, filling a low spot out in the dumb yard, mudjacking or installing an inside system SELL a house that has a DEFCT(s) that allows water to enter basement? Bypass the correct-honest means of identifying the problem, the flaw? Inside system chumps MISREPRESENTING MANY MANY MANY homeowners actual problem(s), NO CHTTTT. Like this lady in St Clar Shores... http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailsh...6/t_=122238283 She ONLY had water coming at at wall-floor joint in ONE corner....YET the fradulent/incompetent inside system co`s try and BS her and tell her she has a 'hydrostatic pressure problem' under her basement floor and she needs an inside system all the way around. Cost $10,000-$15,000 If you take the fcg time and LOOK at the pictures you`ll see the real problems and correct-subsequent means of FIXING the problems......g dang IDIOTS!!! http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailsh...6/t_=122238283 Same here, inside nitwits told HO all she needed was an inside system. Most, not all of the EXTERIOR cracks you`ll see are...NOT visible on the inside.NOT because there is paneling/drywall up but because this is often how cracks/cracking occurs in block walls. To recommend an inside system or raise and slope grade, longer extensions etc is incompetence and those recommending the WRONG fix/solution due to incompetence or self gain (inside twits) need to be held accountable for krist sake! If YOU don`t KNOW what your doing/talking about/recommending on THIS-subject then ya need to keep pie hole SHUT for your benefit as well as the homeowner. This goes for those who write articles which state THEY know the causes and solutions for leaky basements when they barely,if at all have a clue.YOU are CAUSING seller/buyer problems as well!! Last set of pic`s, what....... CAUSED CAUSED CAUSED most of those cracks and subsequent leaks and some mold and effloerscence (insects, radon easy access) was an 8"-10" thick slab at back door leaning against wall AND rock hard SOIL and some roots against walls.LEAVING these things against the wall would have caused MORE DAMAGE to the wall. MOST of you RADIO SHOW HOSTS also are full of crap on THIS SUBJECT, yes you are! If you really cared about your listeners/homeowners as you repeatedly state you`d get them, inform them of ALL the facts and NOT tell them lil bits `n pieces of what your Inside system GUESTS want you to say.Tired of those who MANIPULATE the facts for SELF GAIN. Been told by TWO of these hosts they don`t like me LOLOLOL, they won`t recommend me LOLOLOL. Hey...you don`t recommend any of us exterior guys NOW ya big knotheads, and if ya say this kind of crap to others you know....simply cuz you don`t like us,don`t like the facts, this can be construed as slander=words FALSELY spoken that damage the reputation of another. And some of us have very good reputations at that, 20-30+ years worth and you WONDER why we get pizzed?!@#$!@#$ Goes for you too Glen and T.C, some of the biggest ego`s we`ve ever seen Lets see, while i`m taking a big long shtt on some who DESERVE it(boo fkg hoo), a few more who don`t get this are some JUDGE`s, dang right. Seen some homeowners/BUYERS who`ve been screwed over by some judges, getting tired of this crap too...more incompetence on THIS subject. Yer Honor,WHERE are you getting your information? Online, from inside system websites? How can you FAIRLY rule on a case if you don`t have all the facts on waterproofing and/or don`t understand `em? What, you do the best you can w/what you got? How is that fair/just to the buyer, or seller in some cases? Seems most judges in Detroit allow the expert witness to speak and, give them as much time as they like/need UNLIKE quite a few in suburbs who won`t allow the expert witness to speak ONE word. Took the TIME to HELP someone out and, for FREE FREE FREE and yet not allowed to give expert pertinent info/facts on the case? wtf! Last edited by john bubber; 1/8/09 at 7:08 AM.. |

Basement wall anchor plates,Grip Tite, call it what you want
Take a look, do they REMOVE what caused the wall to bow in? ![]() AND........since the wall has bowed in,there are exterior cracks...... do they waterproof these exterior cracks to umm, stop/prevent water, insects, radon from entering? ![]() Video http://www.btechoflouisville.com/FoundationRepair.html Nope, they leave the soil, possible roots or porch footing against the wall and leave the exterior cracks open and install an incompetent inside water 'management' system. And what about mold,efflorescence....water is still entering the exterior cracks you people don`t waterproof. Watch vid, at best those anchor plates might give 'some' interior support WHERE-the-plates are placed BUT.... there is nothing supporting the wall at top or bottom and as we know, the soil/roots etc is still on/against the outside of the wall......duh! And what about those 'earth anchors'? ![]() http://www.suredrybasements.com/cont...hors_wisconsin ...last image on right. The SOIL under, around the earth anchors still moves, expands & contracts and if there are any underground roots around the rod or earth anchors they too could cause some trouble, cause rods/anchor to move...even just a tad and and the partial wall support is lessened or gone. Yeah right, keep crankin`/tightening the bolts. They don`t think any mortar/bed joints weaken, crack, deteriorate? These companies do not get what is best to help stop further movement, deterioration of the basement wall and stop water from entering the exterior cracks,loose-cracked parging. Basement walls aren`t flexible fer krist sake, if the wall has bowed in a bit then it`ll at least have loose-cracked parging and very likely some vertical, step or horizontal cracks on the outside where water will still enter/penetrate ya nimrods. Some don`t THINK,don`t understand roots can CAUSE cracks,loose-cracked parging and subsequent leaks in basement, along cold joint/cove. EYEBALL this root..... this is what INSIDE SYSTEM Co`s LEAVE against your wall http://www2.snapfish.com/slideshow/A...6/t_=122238283 Here`s the set of pic`s, see some INTERIOR cracks and then what is on the outside http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailsh...6/t_=122238283 Next house,expanding-contracting soil against walls, roots and there was an 8-12" concrete slab against wall, see any EXTERIOR CRACKS? http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailsh...6/t_=122238283 See pics 10,12....can termites, centipedes, ants etc ENTER these or any of those other openings? These cracks/open joints....are left.... open by those INSIDE SYSTEM Co`s Termites CAUSE around 5-6 billion dollars of damage every year, they can easily enter through these exterior cracks http://www.utoronto.ca/forest/termite/tips8.htm What is BEST for the basement wall? Installing wall anchors and an inside water diverting system OR, exterior waterproofing which will REMOVE the shtt that caused the wall to bow in,caused the cracks and STOP water, insects from entering? ![]() I bet the wall anchors and inside system cost MORE,MUCH more! ![]() That job cost $3,200. What about footings, clay soil on the outside of this wall, wall was bowing in a lil, some mold and efflorescence on parts of walls and leaked along the wall-floor joints http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailsh...6/t_=122238283 Anyone who leaves the cause(s) of wall movement, cause of cracks and allows more water to enter through the dumb wall is an idiot and incompetent, they are NOT doing whats best for the basement wall and the homeowner, blchhhtt. They do not want to hand dig......period, thats being a weasel,a chump.Part of the pu__i-fication of humanity. Barenaked ladies-
broke into the old apartment, this is where an inside system was installed broken glass, broke and hungry, broken hearts and leaky basement http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailsh...6/t_=122238283 first 10 pictures.... Another who was talked into an inside system w/sump,had paneling up. Umm, still leaks, some mold and efflorescence on wall. These incompetent salespeople do not correctly identify how-where water is first entering, nor do they care to.....just sell ya`s the inside system. So, homeowner now has to spend about $1,600 to WATERPROOF the actual problems, cracks etc on the outside of the hollow block wall. ![]() Already OUT over $10,000. Could have spent $1,500 or a lil less several years but noooooooooo, some incompetent FOOL told `em they needed their splendid lifetime guarantee inside system. Says basement,'waterproofed and has a sump' ![]() http://www.flickr.com/photos/27267174@N04/3204290406/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/2726717...90406/sizes/l/ No sorry. Water is still entering through cracks etc on the exterior, installing the inside system and sump has not stopped water from entering. The knothead who put it in did not identify where the water FIRST enters and/or didn`t care to because they don`t wanna hand dig and very possibly aren`t insured for exterior waterproofing, thus the many false claims and crap about exterior waterproofing. That basement window is allowing some water to enter as well. IF...the homeowner only had water at-near the corner over to basement window area then they only needed 8-10' of exterior waterproofing done and replace basement window, would have cost between $975-1,100. They spent much more for the inside system and sump which has not waterproofed/fixed the actual problems and so the discolorment `n efflorescence ain`t going away. Misrepresenting the cause/condition of leaky basements for self gain. Turn a $1,000 exterior job into $7,000-20,000 inside system. ![]() ![]() ![]() Mid Atlantic water`g had around 41 million in sales last year. |

Way toooooo many like this,BAD ADVICE from HI on THIS subject
http://www.weinspectforyou.com/03-07%20newsletter.pdf ![]() Solution, REGRADE with clay????? ![]() And says if that doesn`t work it may be advisable to install a hydrostatic pressure relief system????? Average cost $2,500-4,000?Chtt man, where you getting yer numbers. Average situation you`ll need 10-20 `barrows of clay, average cost $400 to $1,000. You are ASSUMING crap, you are not helping homeowners to FIRST identify, locate their problem....then fix the dang thing correctly. If the problem is say, water entering through a crack on outside of block wall at-near a corner then, adding soil doesn`t waterproof the crack..... If the problem is water entering through, around a basement window or door or through open mortar joints above he wall then, adding soil doesn`t tuckpoint the open joints, doesn`t replace the basement window or seal the gaps/openings aroud a door....... If the problem is a blockage in the lateral line or w/a sump pump etc then, adding soil doesn`t snake the lateral line etc etc. If the problem is a corner crack that $1,000 will waterproof the dumb cracks versus playing silly azz games w/soil.Snaking lateral line is usually $150-200 and so on. Adding soil................... doesn`t diagnose/identify the problems, hello??? doesn`t waterproof/fix/repair whatever the real problem is,sheesh K! And ADDING clay can, will increase the weight/pressure against a basement wall, yes it will. The more chtt you add the more weight. ![]() http://www.helium.com/items/1022235-...d-patio?page=3 'Many contractors that install patios do not understand the effect of a new raised patio on the adjacent wall' (adding soil, especially clay or pouring a new driveway on top of existing drive etc) 'Weight of the soil is one of the primary factors that determines how much lateral pressure is caused by the soil against the foundation wall........ ...even what may be considered relatively small increases in backfill can cause large increases in pressure against the wall....Additional weight of ANYTHING plcaed on top of soil backfill causes additional lateral pressure against the foundation wall' On the OTHER hand, thankfully there are some HI`s who get more than others....... Ari understands MORE than the INSIDE System bozo`s who could care less about identifying the problem/eyeballing the walls etc -Leaky Foundations Best Fixed From Outside http://homes.winnipegfreepress.com/i...=article&id=24 If an HI recommends adding soil/clay or installing an inside pressure relief system and bypasses identifying the actual problem(s) then their az may be called out w/any ongoing problems or possibly, if any damage occurs to basement wall after adding clay. WHY do sooo many insist THEY have the solutions to leaky basements when they don`t have any real experience/knowledge. Advice.....QUIT listening to inside system knuckleheads at yer HI meetings.
