Companies who only/prefer to do Inside drain tile or baseboard systems

Hey,

quite of few of these companies BS the public on their websites, advertisements in papers etc for self gain. i`ll call it manipulation, sure...

to manipulate = to adapt or change to suit one`s purpose or advantage, to tamper with or falsify for personal gain.

for instance, some Inside companies have the following within their website FAQ...

"Outside excavation is unnecessary".....and..... "The sealing of the outside of basement walls was done when house was built, it didn`t work then and won`t work now"....and other garbage.

These are untrue,FALSE CLAIMS and misleads the public.

How could anyone who claims to be EXPERTS, who claims to be HONEST, who claims to have such high ethics and standards try and inform-mislead the public, possible customers of complete blllchtt, huh?

No no no no.....i don`t want ya to believe me so, read what OTHERS say and then, please, somebody go stick the truth in these bozo`s underwear, yeah, where the sun don`t shine, give em a letter in their mail box.

least T.C.- Yoder are HONEST here...

http://www.chicagotribune.com/classi...wconstruct-hed

http://www.askthebuilder.com/015_Ext...proofing.shtml

Damproofing is NOT WATERPROOFING.
Parging the outside of basement walls, which was done on many homes is also NOT Waterproofing......got milk? And just about all basement walls were not/are not backfilled with most-all gravel, peastone.

6th paragraph... http://www.yodergroup.com/concrete.asp

..."this type of drainage (gravel against the entire wall) prevents trapped water and saturated soil next to foundation from building up horizontal hydrostatic pressure against the wall. This pressure will crack walls, cause leaks, and in a worst case collapse the wall inward"

What is said here, damage to Basement Walls, type of backfill, most successful REPAIR, huh?

http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/dpwes/p...rineclay.htm#2

Now, did i miss something in these links about any supposed best means of waterproofing by installing an Inside drain tile or baseboard system, huh?

http://www.bobvila.com/HowTo_Library...ion-A2095.html

See what the Bldg Dept in Shaker Heights Ohio says... go ahead, scoll down to WET BASEMENTS.... Q `n A 1 & 5 in particular

http://www.shakeronline.com/dept/building/FAQ.asp#top

What do they recommend, which is the preferred method for dealing with damp/leaky basements, huh?

Make no mistake, any leak/seepage needs to FIRST be correctly DEFINED. Some only have problems upon FLOODING.

Scroll down a tad, see 3 typical causes of a basement back up, remember, this often happens with flooding

http://mkasmtp1.stlmsd.com/Outreach/basement_bkup.pdf

When this happens, it by NO means you need any Inside perimeter drain tile-baseboard water-diverting system, blllchtt! Too many HO get talked/scammed into that.

Maybe some of these Inside co`s should incorporate this into their scheme and, maybe a few hm inspectors will enjoy this as it certainly appears to go with some peoples way-of-thinking. Comes in 3 colors too!

http://www.ne-design.net/basement-waterproofing.html

As i said-tried to inform a long time ago, in the old forum, the Real Reasons basements leak, not the blcchtt.

G.C.Tip.... next time your at the Dry Cleaners ask them to rotate the buttons on yer shirts

i am NOT saying these guys/others are completely full of chtt etc but can we QUIT BS`g the public please, huh?

http://www.sasbasementwaterproofing....net%20Leak.pdf

says, among other things... "Most homes are built with some sort of waterproofing".

Umm, NO....they aren`t. Damprooing is NOT waterproofing, parging is NOT waterproofing.

Then it says, near bottom... "NOTE: Once hydrostatic pressure causes seepage, the problem can only be solved by a system designed to relieve pressure and control the water. Excavation and do-it-yourself methods cannot and will not solve the problem"

Hmmm, so what Capizzo Construction,R L Stremersch Waterp`g, Downriver Waterp`g, Clark Water`g, myself and a few others have been doing the last 25-35 years doesn`t solve basement seepage/leaks, doesn`t relieve pressure? If this were true then wouldn`t we have been outta business a long time ago or, at least, have 20-50++ BBB customer complaints, like quite a few Inside comapnies who do inside perimeter systems have, Huh? lolol same chtt different day

http://www.basementtechnologies.com/FAQ.html

Q) What about outside excavation and exterior methods?
A) These methods are usually very expensive, traumatizing to the landscape and just not reliable..... BS!

Q) Will sealing the outside of the basement walls work?
A) usually not, this is called damp-proofing and this type of work is performed upon new construction and tends to crack over time.It also does not address the pressure build up...........our system works under all conditions. BS!

Lots to get into but for now, take a look near bottom Q) How do i handle new construction? ......They say to install their inside system before floor is poured and you`ll have a dry basement for Lifetime of the structure.

Oh really??? Let`s see, they said earlier that sealing the outside of basement walls usually doesn`t work, is unreliable etc so, apparently, these so-called experts are telling you NOT to waterproof the outside of basement walls and to simply install an inside system and you`ll be fine, forever!

Now if you believe this you most likely also believe in the four leaf clover, the rabbit`s foot, and the Voodoo lay who`ll tell ya yer fortune by squeezing a goat`s testicles (GC)....nonsense!

Our politicians have told us a buncha chtt too, people can say whatever they want, how about backing it up for once, huh?

So....put me on a highway, and show me a sign and take it, to the limit one more time.

When a basement wall leaks/seeps and maybe one see`s efflorescence along bottom of wall, some say.. "Oh, the outside drain tiles must be clogged-broken" . Grrr... this is NOT the problem, ok? STOP That!!!

Are there drain tiles in the ocean, a lake, huh? No, of course not.

A boat can sink because of what? Huh? an opening,a crack etc.

A roof leaks due to what, huh? openings up there, sure! Will you have the roof fixed from the inside, like up in the attic or, patch the ceiling where water is dripping in, huh? Of course not!

I guess, one could make a case that gutters for roofs are kind of like drain tiles around the footings for basement walls.

If you have a roof that leaks, will replacing the gutters seal the opening/hole/whatever up on the roof, huh? Of course not and, you wouldn`t recommend that to a HO and if you did, a roofing contractor would probably laugh so hard they`d crap their pants.

Well, drain tiles laid along the footing have nothing to do with a wall that has a crack or other opening, it cannot waterproof the crack/opening and won`t fix any other potential problem, opening-leak ABOVE ground incl`g openings around basement windows, open mortar joints etc.

Replacing any outside drain tiles or, adding more with a shallow french drain doesn`t fix a crack, other openings that allow water to enter, or enough moisture which could allow mold to begin to grow, efflorescence on part of wall, other discolorment/staining of wall etc. Please stop repeating these goofy myths, i have no clean underwear left

One more thing about drain tiles, ok?

Some think/say "the old clay tiles aren`t any good, better off with plastic perf. tile" and other crap. More nonsense.

Those clay tiles are much stronger, much heavier and thicker than any plastic tile. Clay tiles withstand underground weight/pressure way better, chht, they have proved that! Any tile laid underground for decades can get clogged with debris/roots..ok?

Some of the reasons builders started using the plastic is because its cheaper for THEM, its easier/lighter to haul and then place down around footings, quicker...saves them time. BUT....that doesn`t mean they are better, nope. The plastic is thinner, cheaper, lighter and doesn`t withstand the weight of backfill anywhere near as good as clay. One can carry-drag 100' of plastic tile with 2 fingers versus using both arms just to carry 4 or 5 1' 4" dia. clay tiles.

Hey, homeowners need to FIRST define what the problem(s) are, how-where water is entering....THEN they can choose correct repair.

G.C. was thinking about how mothers feed their babies with those tiny, little forks and spoons....so, i wondered what do Chinese mothers use, toothpicks?

...hey, when is the media in this country going to realize no one is interested in these rich trouser-stained guys who fly around the world in a freakin` balloon? What is this, 1850? Get an airline ticket like the rest of us would ya please! Mr. Lighter than air. I hope the next guy gets hit by lightning and lands in a sewage treatment pond with the rest of the turds.

Keep yapping about diverting SURFACE water or Inside systems and NOT about stopping/preventing water from entering! Thats called WATERPROOFING!

If you have a leaky roof your going to fix it correctly on the Outside!

Have water coming through open mortar joints you`ll, , hire someone to tuckpoint which is done, Outside.

Water coming through flashing on chimney, through windows, around doors you`ll go Outside to stop/prevent it from entering.

When The Levee Breaks

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRmTL...related&search=

a bit misleading here, don`t ya think? ..i certainly do

-Description.. "the thermo flo basement waterproofing system prevents basement leakage caused by a high water table or by infiltration of ground water"

http://www.hudclips.org/sub_nonhud/c...MATR/1199e.doc

...Prevents basement leakage caused by INFILTRATION of ground water?? are they kidding?

Uh, no sorry, it does NOT prevent ground water from infiltrating/entering cracks & other openings in basement walls or above basement walls, re-think this please

Can they re-phrase to, i dunno, maybe make CLEARER How about something like..."this system in most cases will keep water that will still enter, off-the-basement-floor along perimeter areas where system is installed"...and then add potential for mold/efflorescence etc

where it says..."a rigid plastic panel is attached to the inside face of basement wall"....and...."the panel channels moisture or water below the floor level and into drainage pipe"

...well, the system does not/is not stopping-preventing ground water or moisture from entering/infiltrating!! Hello? Anybody home?

they don`t think allowing water/moisture to CONTINUE to enter through a basement wall, BEHIND this rigid paneling, will increase the potential for mold, huh? What about efflorescence, radon, insects who love wet/damp areas, huh?

and what about those homeowners who have widening crack(s) or a wall thats bowing in, huh? Not worried about this? Inside drain tile or baseboard systems do NOT lessen/relieve outside soil pressure or roots

-Installation.... it says "drill holes into each-block-core and mortar joints between blocks". If anything, this allows easier access for radon to enter, sure it does. They don`t Waterproof the outside of the wall/cracks and then drill holes on inside? lol

shtt, how does radon enter? http://www.epa.gov/radon/pubs/physic.html#Character

..."radon gas can enter a home from the soil through cracks in concrete floors and walls, floor drains, sump pumps, construction joints AND tiny cracks or PORES in hollow-block walls"

so....don`t worry about continued ground water/moisture entering? No need to worry about possible deterioration of blocks, not to worry about mold/efflorescence/radon/insects/soil pressure on outside of wall? bllchtt

Why play 'hide `n seek' with the facts? Many are omitted, conveniently overlooked.
