Inspection Education & Training This is a general forum for inspectors to discuss their educational experience, and to ask questions of InterNACHI's Education Committee. This forum is dedicated to the memory of InterNACHI member and educator Gerry Beaumont. Gerry was an avid proponent of education for inspectors and will be sorely missed.

Question Re: 25 Standards Every Inspector Should Know course. Free!

As I work my way through the new "25 Standards" course, it seems like I'm learning some building code information along with the standard inspector information. I don't ever quote code, either on-site or in reports, so this new course is somewhat confusing in that respect. I'm wondering what the source is for the information in this course?

2006 IRC, mostly. Although home inspectors don't quote codes, much of what you point out (or don't) to your clients during a home inspection is based on building codes/standards (firewall, TPR valve, notches and holes, etc.).
