Inspection Education & Training This is a general forum for inspectors to discuss their educational experience, and to ask questions of InterNACHI's Education Committee. This forum is dedicated to the memory of InterNACHI member and educator Gerry Beaumont. Gerry was an avid proponent of education for inspectors and will be sorely missed.

I don't mean to keep repeating myself and talking to you like you are stupid or something but here goes once again... If you have a specific question ask it on a separate thread and I will answer it. If it is vague I will ignore it. I apologize for saying this over and over to you... it must be past your bed time too.
Keep trying Nick, everyone ( except for the newbies) knows better. Spin, spin, spin.

If Nick is ghuilty of anything (and, believe me, he is!) it's of premature announcment. This is common in the marketing biz. Wet their appetites, then let them down, then bring the promised thing (or something like it) forward. Failures, just forget them, they will become yesterday's news.

One thing that Nick counts on is the membership. He leads the way by announceing something, then waits for the membership to make it come true. And we do.

That is the strength of NACHI.

Will... Thats the strength of any member run association. Unfortunately in a dictator run association more often than not, the ones that make it come true are new and naive and give up when the leadership fails to support them and the priority is having the belief that the best way to succeed is bash others.

How many members actually do what you and a few others attempt to do and succeed?
Reading this BB nachi members that sincerely believe in nachi and our profession give it their all, and end up throughing up their hands and quit trying after a year or so due to no support or no finacial support from head quarters.

NACHI , nachis current leader, current policy's, and this public BB is an embarrassment to our profession !!! when customers attempt to locate an inspector only to find the truth about nachi by reading this BB, or the inspector they tried to locate is no longer in business this affects the publics perception of out profession.

On nachis members ship #S ,From what I gather the rumor in the HI world is. 70 % of NACHI members aren't blind, their just MIA.

Nick.... Next Sat AZ ASHI is having a seminar in Mesa, I'm sure if you show up in your nachi race car you'll get a lot of attention, come on out, maybe you'll impress a few newbies and get a couple new members by showing up.

Why in tarnations would anyone want to put someone as important as Dan in their Ignore group? Will apparently came to his senses if he did, indeed, recommend putting Dan in their Ignore group.

[quote=wdecker]As usual, you (and your link) make no sense.

If you don't like (or are jealous of) NACHI, why don't you work to get your association in better shape. Be positive.

Be Positive? I guess the first thing that I need to clarify. To me, it's not your or my org, it's our profession and the appearance of our profession to the general public.

I and many other ASHI members do work to get our association in better shape..
It's called voting every year [yes we do have a choice, and our vote counts ] for leaders of our org, we also have the privilege to vote on inspection issues, ie. Standards of Practice, COE changes etc. to assure the public gets what they expect for the trust they place on us evertime they pay us their hard earned dollars..

This may be hard to understand for a few... To the best of my knowledge ASHIs goal is not to be the largest...

I believe ASHIs priority is to provide quality CE, and properly trained inspectors, prior to marketing ASHI members as "Certified Members" to the public.

Russell... Bobbi Afeline thinks I'm important..

Let this serve as a reminder to never post information looking for members to participate in a public area of the forum. It can be too easily hijacked by the riff-raff.

Let's move it where it belongs and let dharris alone to pleasure himself.

Hey, don't get me wrong here, it's worth every penny to belong to NACHI I just think the BS should stop.
My kids said there is a NACHI race car on one of their XBox 360 games. I didn't believe them, but maybe there is. *shrug*

That's good publicity if it's in there.

I don't know who Bobbi Afeline is, but did you notice that I did not use any emoticons in my post? We don't have a "Hey, I'm serious here" emoticon, so when I am quite serious, I usually leave all emoticons out. I think you're important simply because you are a human being (at least, I presume that you are; I've never met you, but you read and write English, so that's a pretty good indication of your humanness). I think all people are important. Now if we can just reach some of those (think terrorists) who think they are more important than others.

"Will... Thats the strength of any member run association.

Member 'run' is a misnomer. The other associations elect officers and the officers run the association. NACHI members do 'run; things in that NACHI's strength is in our local chapters, not dictated from above like some others.

Sure, Nick is the only one in charge (at national) but that is not where the real power is. National does what it can, with marketing and this board (the most viewed in the industry). Our Chicago Chapter has complete autonomy, helps the national chapter and the other chapters. National helps our chapter financially, but we do most of it ourselves.

Would you prefer a big national who does everything for you?

Unfortunately in a dictator run association more often than not, the ones that make it come true are new and naive and give up when the leadership fails to support them and the priority is having the belief that the best way to succeed is bash others.

I would say new and idealistic, not yet jaded and cynical. Also new and more highly educated than is usual for home inspectors.

How many members actually do what you and a few others attempt to do and succeed?

Many, as witnessed on this board and at local chapter meetings.

Reading this BB nachi members that sincerely believe in nachi and our profession give it their all, and end up throughing up their hands and quit trying after a year or so due to no support or no finacial support from head quarters."

And many don't.
